    The 10% Pledge

The 10% Pledge: why every program we sell funds missions at home & abroad.

    The pledge

From the day Be Unforgettable opened for business, 10% of profits have been earmarked for missions that serve the less fortunate — in the United States & abroad. Not a marketing campaign. Not a partnership announcement. A line item in the P&L, reported every year.

We publish this from the outset because no one else in the leadership development category does. Most firms talk about purpose. We commit to a number.

    Where the money goes

Four pillars, chosen because they meet people where the need is most immediate:

  1. Medicine. Frontline clinics, supplies for under-resourced hospitals, & outreach in regions where a single nurse covers a county. We fund the care that gets there first.
  2. Housing. Shelter for displaced families — domestic shelters in US cities, transitional housing for refugees, rebuilds after disasters. A roof is the precondition for everything else.
  3. Farming. Seeds, tools, irrigation, training. Food security in the short term, livelihoods in the long term. The most durable form of aid is the kind people can repeat themselves next season.
  4. Faith. The chance for people to discover faith on their own terms — never coerced, never tied to material aid. Chaplaincy, scripture access, community spaces. Faith is offered, not imposed.
  5. Why these four

Leaders trained in our system run companies that move resources at scale. The least we can do is route some of those resources toward the things money still can't fully solve: a child seen by a doctor, a family sleeping safely, a field that feeds a village, a person who finds meaning when life is hard.

Medicine, housing & farming address the body. Faith addresses what the body cannot. Together they cover the full picture of a human being under pressure — which, not coincidentally, is the same picture we work on in the leaders we coach.

    US & abroad

Half the pledge stays in the United States. Half goes overseas.

In the US, we partner with frontline organizations working in cities & rural counties where the gap between the haves & the have-nots is widest. Veterans coming home. Families one paycheck from the street. Mothers without prenatal care. Children without breakfast.

Abroad, the focus is regions where the basics — water, medicine, shelter, a working farm — are still the difference between life & death. East Africa. Southeast Asia. Central America. The places where a small amount of capital, deployed well, changes a generation.

    How we choose partners

    Three filters:

    1. Boots on the ground. We fund organizations with people physically present in the community, not head offices skimming overhead. If 80 cents of the dollar isn't reaching the work, we don't fund it.

    2. Audited. Every partner produces public financials. We read them.

    3. No coercion. Aid is never conditional on belief. Faith is offered through dedicated chaplaincy programs, separately funded, separately reported. Medicine reaches everyone, full stop.

    What we report

    Every year, we publish:

  6. Total profit for the year
  7. The 10% figure transferred to the mission fund
  8. A line-by-line list of partners funded & amounts
  9. A short note from each partner on what the money did
  10. If a year is light, the number is light — & we say so. We don't smooth it. We don't dress it up. The pledge is a percentage of profit, not a marketing budget.

    Why publish this at all

Two reasons. First, accountability. Putting the pledge on the website on day one means we cannot quietly drop it later. Our customers, our cohort, & our coaches will hold us to it.

Second, leadership. The leaders we work with run organizations where the budgets are far larger than ours. We want them to see what a small, profitable firm looks like when it commits to giving from the outset — & to ask whether they could do the same.

    What this is not

This is not a charity arm. It is not a foundation. It is not a structure designed to optimize tax. It is a straight transfer — 10% of profits — to organizations doing the work.

And it is not contingent on growth, on a good year, or on board approval. It is in the operating agreement.

    The takeaway

If you buy a cohort seat, an executive coaching engagement, or the online course, 10% of the profit on that purchase funds the work above. You don't have to opt in. You don't have to fill out a form. It happens automatically.

Most leadership companies talk about purpose. We publish a number, & we mean it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 10% gross or net profits?

Net profits, after operating costs & tax. We commit to the number annually & publish what was transferred & to whom. In a low-profit year the number is small; we report it honestly rather than top it up for optics.

Can customers direct where their share goes?

We don't run a customer-direction model — it would fragment the funding & reduce impact per dollar. We choose partners against three filters (boots on the ground, audited financials, no coercion) & report annually. Customers can recommend organizations for the next cycle.

Is the faith funding only for one religion?

No. Faith funding supports chaplaincy & discovery programs across traditions, & is always offered, never imposed. Medical, housing & farming aid is fully separated from faith activity — care reaches everyone regardless of belief.

Why publish the pledge on the homepage instead of a quiet CSR page?

Two reasons. Accountability — putting it on the homepage means we cannot quietly drop it later. & leadership — the leaders we coach run organizations with far larger budgets, & we want them to see what a small, profitable firm commits to from day one.
